Danforth has new principal

Wimberley ISD is pleased to announce that Mr. Joseph Holzmann has been named Principal of Danforth Junior High School. The WISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the hire at its meeting on June 17th.

“I am incredibly humbled and excited to step into the principal role at Danforth Junior High School and join the leadership team at Wimberley ISD,” Mr. Holzmann says. “I look forward to meeting our dedicated staff, supportive parents, guardians, and growing students in the coming weeks. I am eager to become an integral part of the Wimberley community and learn what makes it so special from each stakeholder. Together, I am confident we will build upon past successes and continue to make Danforth Junior High a vibrant community where everyone can thrive and succeed.”

Mr. Holzmann just completed his 30th year in education, including the last 22 in campus leadership roles. He has experience as a middle school administrator and teacher, and most recently was assistant principal at Alamo Heights High School, from 2019 to 2024. He received his Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Education from the University of Incarnate Word and a Masters in Educational Leadership from University of Texas - San Antonio. He is currently working on a Doctor of Education degree at Abilene Christian University.
